Storytelling
Project details
What we need
- A compelling narrative, or set of stories
- Persuasive copy that can be used in appeals to donors, annual reports, grant applications, and media relations
- Popular examples: Organization's founding story, a program achievement or milestone, a look back at the past few years, organizational backgrounder, etc.
- Note: This project is not intended to support your general content planning or marketing but there are several projects in our Marketing & Communications category which are a good fit!
What we have in place
- We currently have an inspiring and engaged group of alumni, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a strong brand and a team with an eye for storeis, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to fund more scholarships for people financially and emotionally devastated by cancer.
It's been five years since our first tribe of cancer patients and survivors stepped beyond their stories of cancer to volunteer in India. Since, then more than 140 participants have joined A Fresh Chapter for life-changing experiences in India, South Africa, Peru, Costa Rica, and the U.S. Now, as part of our 5-year anniversary celebration, we are creating an Anthology of AFC Stories of Transformation. We are seeking a talented writer to join our team and help us create compelling content, which will be part of our year-end fundraising campaign.
Project plan
Our mission
Our mission is to help people make sense of the complex emotions of cancer and give them the tools, support, and community to thrive -- even in the midst of challenging circumstances.
What we do
A Fresh Chapter (AFC) is a survivor-led organization that is changing the landscape of cancer support around the globe. We bridge the gap in cancer by care by focusing on the whole person -- not just their disease. Through our peer-facilitated virtual and in-person programs, we use a skills-based approach to address the emotional aftermath of cancer while empowering patients, survivors, and caregivers to move forward with resilience and purpose. Our programs cover a range of themes including navigating uncertainty, living in contradiction, and finding perspective, and are available free of charge to individuals impacted by all types and stages of cancer around the world.
Testimonials
Dale was a pleasure to work with. He has an eye for story, did a wonderful job connecting with our alumni regarding their cancer stories and I would welcome an opportunity to collaborate with Dale again!
