Additional details
The limitation of data in Puerto Rico is real. In the wake of hurricane Maria, access to data is critical in the rebuilding process, the development of public policies and services, and the creation of data development agendas.
A Source Library identifying questionnaires and data import wizards that includes data for Puerto Rico will help us access most of the information available.
The inventory should include the following agencies: US Census, HHS & CDC, Education, Department of Family Services and Labor Statistics Bureau.
What we have in place
- We currently have identify several project in multiple agencies, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have websites, templates, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,868 , allowing us to access to more data, create content for data development agendas and help re-build Puerto Rico.
The success of our organization depends on having access to accurate data. Without your help, we cannot raise awareness of issues children face. Your skills will empower us to identify public policy problems and make recommendations.

Our mission
The Youth Development Institute of Puerto Rico (Instituto del Desarrollo de la Juventud) is a nonprofit organization working to advance public policies- at both the federal and commonwealth level- that improve the lives of children and youth in Puerto Rico. Our work includes the collection and dissemination of data; development of research-driven public policy recommendations; and advocacy work that is driven by both data and people. We are the only organization focused on policy and advocacy around children's issues in Puerto Rico.
