This project will save us $3,750, allowing us to continue to improve our online system to provide better resources for teachers.

What We Need

  • The opportunity to brainstorm visual concepts with an artist
  • A high-resolution digital version of an illustration to be used across multiple channels (web, print, and/or merchandising)

How This Will Help

We currently offer an online training calendar to connect early childhood educators to professional development, and are looking to include one or more icons to help teachers identify high quality training. Without a visual component, it is harder for teachers to find the best training for their needs. Your skills will help educators learn and grow, and ultimately provide better care for the children of New York State.

What We Have In Place

We currently have examples of other icons used across our site which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a clear vision of what we are looking for and the ability to provide any other information you need.

Fun Fact

We are a fun, smart group of former teachers who are committed to giving kids what they deserve! And every once in a while, we bring babies to work :)

Our Mission

The New York Early Childhood Professional Development Institute creates public systems that enhance the quality of care and education during the crucial early years of life – from birth to age eight – which are so pivotal for later success. A nonprofit organization within the City University of New York, the Institute identifies obstacles to excellence, creates solutions, works with public and private funders to test and pilot the solutions, and implements the resulting systems.

What We Do

The Institute plays a major role in preparing the early childhood workforce, establishing standards of quality, measuring effectiveness, and conveying how the standards can best be met. Its programs evolve in response to the needs of the field. Its flexibility and responsiveness provide a dynamism that keeps it in the forefront and ensure that its initiatives reflect the most relevant research and address the latest needs of practitioners. The Institute addresses the quality and availability of childcare, pre-kindergarten, and other early education services, whether provided in homes, centers, or schools. It builds systems that provide access to services and enhance their sustainability, working throughout New York State but developing models that have application more broadly.
