Project details

What we need
  • A detailed, unbiased audit of the Organization's culture including current strengths and weaknesses
  • Actionable steps to follow to promote team happiness and productivity
  • Up to 4 coaching sessions with a selected staff member
What we have in place
  • We currently do a staff culture survey that was implemented at the beginning of the spring growing season when all the staff returned back to work. The hope is that 95% of our staff say that culture and work environment has improved over the course of the growing season. I am prepared to create and implement ideas that can work towards this goal.
How this will help
This project will save us $10,298 , allowing us to use that money to pay more people! Which will also help improve staff culture.

I believe a strong staff culture helps retain a great staff and helps staff feel more invested and energized in their work-- leading, of course to improved work! Gardeneers is in need of an overall organization culture assessment and advice on new strategies, and potentially even a plan on how to increase staff culture. Additionally, we are interested in increasing our staff diversity and even creating a framework for more staff feedback to be heard and acted upon.

Our mission

Gardeneers cultivates customized school garden programs to ensure each space, and the students and communities who care for it, connect with healthy food and grow to their full potential.

What we do

Gardeneers was created to give Chicago students in food desert communities equal access to healthy
food and food education. We are a team of dedicated Garden Educators who work directly with students in our partner school gardens on a weekly basis. We currently serve 25 partner schools and over 2,200 students each week.

Gardeneers cultivates customized school garden programs to ensure each space, and the students and communities who care for it, connect with healthy food and grow to their full potential.

Gardeneers is the only Chicago-based nonprofit providing full-service, customized school garden programs with on-going support. When schools lack the time and resources to sustain a garden program, we ensure their success.
