Project details

What we need
  • Review of job descriptions, pay structure, internal value, competitive market data, non-monetary rewards and benefits
  • Recommendations for updating staff compensation and incentive plans
What we have in place
  • Since we are a small staff, I also do everything HR as well. I can provide access to all salary and benefits information, along with role descriptions and can answer any questions that may come up along the way.
How this will help
This project will save us $27,310 , allowing us to align our yearly budget with the work that our staff is doing. I truly believe this will help hire and retain awesome people!

As the Executive Director of a 4 year old non-profit, I am working on our strategic plan and trying to balance growth of program with fundraising. Our organization is grounded in a high-touch model so our educators and staff are the cornerstone of what makes our organization special. Given that our Garden Educators come with various education and experience, I am looking to get feedback on current role descriptions and advice on a pay structure that is competitive but also achievable given the size of our organization.

Our mission

Gardeneers cultivates customized school garden programs to ensure each space, and the students and communities who care for it, connect with healthy food and grow to their full potential.

What we do

Gardeneers was created to give Chicago students in food desert communities equal access to healthy
food and food education. We are a team of dedicated Garden Educators who work directly with students in our partner school gardens on a weekly basis. We currently serve 25 partner schools and over 2,200 students each week.

Gardeneers cultivates customized school garden programs to ensure each space, and the students and communities who care for it, connect with healthy food and grow to their full potential.

Gardeneers is the only Chicago-based nonprofit providing full-service, customized school garden programs with on-going support. When schools lack the time and resources to sustain a garden program, we ensure their success.

Testimonials

Nicole was so wonderful to work with. She was extremely organized and professional and really took the time to get to know me and Gardeneers so that she could help personalize a compensation plan that really met our needs. We were able to progress and stay on track for this project because she set feasible goals and timelines and has a deep wealth of knowledge and experience. Gardeneers is so lucky to have worked with Nicole. I highly recommend her services to anyone who needs to create a new compensation plan. She made a HUGE difference for our quickly growing organization.
