We are looking for assistance in locating appropriate grants for our project as well as help in refining our presentation.
What we have in place
- Our board of directors has constructed a strategic plan including a mission statement, goals and SWOT analysis. We have a website, Facebook page and email list of interested parties. We are exhibiting at Abilities Expo in May and have planned a public info session featuring a comprehensive power point presentation. Yesterday, we participated in Rockin4Autism, an outdoor concert where we had a vendor table and distributed brochures to interested families. Our brand includes a professionally designed logo, table covers, t-shirts and tri-fold brochures.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,140 , allowing us to put that money toward the $4 million we need for our first phase of construction.
Boxwood Junction is looking for grants to fund start up costs for our inclusive community for people with disabilities. Because we are planning to provide both housing and employment services to our residents, we will possibly qualify for a variety of grant funds and corporate sponsorships. Currently 77% of adults with developmental disabilities are without housing services and 85% are unemployed or underemployed. By creating a community where mentors who support our residents are actually living on the grounds, we are envisioning a radically different model that will be more cost effective to run and safer for our residents.

We are a nonprofit seeking to create an inclusive community where people with disabilities can receive residential, employment, social, recreational and therapeutic supports, living alongside their mentors who will assist them with their day to day activities.
