Project details

What we need
  • Recommendations for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactics such as link-building campaigns, improvements to website or blog’s architecture, keywords to target within content, as well as proper naming of titles, meta information and images
  • Recommendations for implementing a paid advertising campaign of Organization’s choice, such as Pay Per Click (PPC), and advice on how to determine optimal spending on ads
  • Training on how to evaluate performance of SEM strategy, as well as how to measure key site metrics
  • Note: Google AdWords is one kind of PPC tool
What we have in place
  • I am very well trained computer expert and fully understand the concepts involved in SEO, including keywording. However, I do not know the best way to approach SEO in order to best reach or target audiences.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,098 , allowing us to fund some basic research on potential treatments for this rare disease.

We are transition from an existing website (SclerodermaInfo.org) to a brand new, much improved website. It is currently in beta test stage: SclerodermaInfo.org/staging. We are actively using Google Adwords with the free Google grant and will modify it for the new website. We need to do SEO and I am not sure the best way to approach this. Ideally I would like to find someone through CAF to do the initial SEO work for the new website and train someone on our staff on how to do this for new content that will be added.

Our mission

Our primary goal is to provide comprehensive, up-to-date, research-based information on systemic scleroderma diagnosis and treatments. We believe that patients who are educated about their disease can work more effectively with their team of physicians to make the best possible individual care decisions.

We are also focused on research to test a novel disease pathogenesis model that we originally proposed in 1993. If this disease model turns out to be correct, it is likely to lead to new treatments for systemic scleroderma that are more effective and much safer than current, largely ineffective, treatments that are currently being used.
