How this will help
This project will save us $5,848 , allowing us to continue to fulfill our mission of telling the stories and preserving the history of Ocean County for future generations.
The Ocean County Historical Society is the eminent steward of Ocean County, NJ history. Established in 1950, we have extensive archival materials, rotating exhibits, artifacts, and ongoing programs housed in our Victorian-style museum. As a volunteer organization, we rely on memberships and grants to support our general operating budget. We now have a critical need to develop a membership strategy that will attract more community support in all areas: membership, volunteers, donors and visitors. We need a membership roadmap to support our mission.
Project plan
Our mission
The Ocean County Historical Society is a volunteer, nonprofit organization established in 1950, whose mission is the preservation of the history of Ocean County and the education of its citizens about their history through such methods as publications, programs, classes and trips. To achieve this purpose, the society maintains a museum to exhibit and store documents and artifacts as well as a library for historical and genealogical research.
What we do
The Ocean County Historical Society "tells the stories of Ocean County" through the following methods: exhibits, programs, newsletters, school trips, community outreach programs, accessibility to historical documents and archival research, and partnerships with other civic groups.
