Project details
What we need
- A photographer who will work with the Organization over 1-2 days to capture an important event or shoot a series of photographs to tell the Organization's story
- A set of professionally edited, high-resolution images delivered in JPEG or TIFF format suitable for web or print use
- Note: The photographer needs to be available in the same geographical location as the Organization or be willing to travel at own expense
Additional details
2-3 high resolution photos that can be shared later in the day of the event, so they can be used in an immediate newsletter follow-up.
What we have in place
- We currently have an event planner as a point person on day of photography, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a sense for the type of photos that we would like and examples ready to share, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,048 , allowing us to better capture the results of a major fundraising and community building event.
Strong Women Strong Girls Boston is in the midst of a campaign to match a challenge grant from Robert Kraft. On March 8th, we will have our 2nd annual Women's Leadership Breakfast, which will play a major role in helping us reach our goals with the challenge. The event will be featuring many Boston area VIPs. We would love to have really strong photography from the event so we can continue to publicize the work that we do effectively and engage all of the attendees and sponsors.
Project plan
Our mission
The Strong Women, Strong Girls (SWSG) mission is to empower girls to imagine a broader future through a curriculum grounded on female role models, delivered by college women mentors, who are themselves mentored by professional women. Our vision is that every girl and woman will realize her inner strengths to dream, and do.
What we do
Girls in Boston, particularly girls of color, face a challenging future including high rates of poverty, violence, and mental health challenges. While we cannot prevent a girl from facing these challenges, we can arm each girl with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to face them head-on. One straightforward solution is providing girls with supportive mentoring relationships. Youth with mentors demonstrate higher self-esteem, better performance in school, and greater aspirations for college and career, all of which keep girls on track to pursue their dreams. Unfortunately, only 33.5% of Boston youth have their mentoring needs met (Mass Mentoring Partnership, 2010). Since 2004, SWSG has been dedicated to filling this gap in youth mentoring services for girls in Greater Boston by delivering a standardized core after-school mentoring program that serves over hundreds of girls (ages 8-11) each year.
