Project details

What we need
  • Personalized feedback and up to 5 coaching sessions with one member of the Organization
  • Document outlining strengths, weaknesses, and suggested next steps and/or resources for the member
What we have in place
  • We currently have videos of my past speaking experiences, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have content and presentation opportunities, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $8,660 , allowing us to Save lives and lead the fight against cancer.

As a cancer survivor with a passion to fight cancer, my role with the organization often gives me the opportunity to speak to groups and leadership staff about my role and impact we can make together. I have been a speaker in my former role as a trainer and as a cancer survivor in the opening ceremonies at event. My passion and love of speaking is something that I would like to hone and find ways to showcase my experiences in life and my expertise in different areas is a goal in 2018.

Our mission

The American Cancer Society’s mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.

What we do

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Our Global Headquarters are located in Atlanta, Georgia, and we have regional and local offices throughout the country to ensure we have a presence in every community.

While most people know us for our research, we do so much more. We attack cancer from every angle. We promote healthy lifestyles to help you prevent cancer. We research cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatments. We fight for lifesaving policy changes. We provide everything from emotional support to the latest cancer information for those who have been touched by cancer. And we do it all 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Testimonials

Gavin truly has been a real asset to me as a professional. Working through steps to improve my thought process and prep for speaking engagements was the beginning of my development as a speaker. His flexibility to my needs as a professional, answering all of my questions and putting me on the right path to success. I would highly recommend him as a volunteer and a professional.
