Project details

What we need
  • A photographer who will work with the Organization over 1-2 days to capture an important event or shoot a series of photographs to tell the Organization's story
  • A set of professionally edited, high-resolution images delivered in JPEG or TIFF format suitable for web or print use
  • Note: The photographer needs to be available in the same geographical location as the Organization or be willing to travel at own expense
Additional details

Ability to travel to remote farm locations in DC, MD and/or VA.
Experience shooting in outdoor locations with children.

What we have in place
  • Farm to School Approved field trips will take place outdoors and on coordinated days with touring school groups in DC, Maryland and Virginia. Videographers can choose to shoot as many videos as desired.

They should also be prepared to shoot outside, bring their own equipment, and feel comfortable working with children.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,048 , allowing us to put resources towards teacher trainings and promote farm field trips for DC's public and charter school students.

We are seeking creative & motivated volunteer videographer(s) to help us film and produce "Farm to School Approved" farm trailers at DC, MD and VA farms. DC Greens work with farmers, teachers, and the city government to identify "Farm to School Approved" field trip destinations that are guaranteed to provide a rich educational field trip for students. We need your help to feature these farms on our website! This is a great opportunity for a volunteer videographer to expand their portfolio and gain experience.

Our mission

DC Greens is a Black-led, multiracial organization that uses advocacy, food education, and upstream community health interventions to build a more just and resilient food system. Our innovative food access program Produce Rx advances a "food as medicine" approach. We equip medical professionals to prescribe fresh fruits and veggies to patients with low incomes managing diet-related illnesses like diabetes, pre-diabetes and hypertension.

In 2022 we opened our educational farm and wellness space The Well, serving the Congress Heights, Washington Highlands and Bellevue neighborhoods of Southeast DC. DC Greens' vision for health equity is a city where each one of us has the ability to shape the policies and institutions that have an impact on our wellbeing.
