Project details

What we need
  • A visual redo of the Organization's website
  • Design direction based on Organization's desired branding and style preferences
  • Mock-ups of key site pages
  • Commitment to 2 phone calls with a developer to guide initial front-end coding work
  • Note: We recommend this project for custom websites. If your site is built on a CMS platform like Wordpress or Squarespace that offers templates, you may not need this project. Check out our Website Content Plan project for help building a CMS-based website
Additional details

* This project is for Ilovemountains.org, our sister site. We have just redone our website for the Alliance.* Since we already have a paid theme, we don't really one created. It would be nice if someone had the time to look at the function of the theme and utilize this to design a better and functioning layout. We can provide you with the development link and the theme link in a private message.

What we have in place
  • We currently have content pulled over to a fresh WP install and premium theme, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have paid support for the theme and many more photos, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $9,186 , allowing us to conserve the very limited time of our staff person.

Our sister site ilovemountains.org is a critical part of our information and resource sharing around mountaintop removal, as well as collecting donations and building communication lists. The site was created many years ago and is very well known. We have pulled over the copy and some photos into a new wordpress theme on a development site. A paid intern worked on this and it really needs the touch of a professional web designer.

Our mission

The Alliance for Appalachia is a regional coalition of grassroots, non-profit organizations with the goals of ending mountaintop removal, putting a halt to destructive coal technologies, and creating a sustainable, just Appalachia.

What we do

We believe that our campaign to abolish mountaintop removal mining is an important element of the national effort for progressive, systemic change in our nation's economic, energy, and environmental policies. By working in coalition to highlight and organize against the dangers and true costs of our dependence on coal, we can help move the nation toward a new ethic of whole and healthy communities and away from our current extraction economy.
