Project details

What we need
  • Specific copy from one document (up to 1000 words) translated from one language to one other of the Organization's choice
  • Note: If you need more than 1000 words translated or copy translated into more than one language, please post additional versions of this project
Additional details

This project isn't actually a translation project--it's transcription that we're looking for. We have an audio interview that we'd like to have transcribed. Bonus points if you have audio editing skills/familiarity with audio production.

What we have in place
  • We have several audio files, in Belizan English, that need to be transcribed and potentially stitched together into one clip. The most important thing is for them to be transcribed. The interview is with an elderly farmer who has been farming for many years. In the interview, he talks about everything from hurricanes to biodiversity to birds the importance of trees climate change and the legacy he'll leave for his children. It's a fascinating interview with someone on the frontlines of climate change. We think you'll greatly enjoy spending time with this farmer and hearing their story.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,098 , allowing us to reach more farmers and forests, helping farmers out of poverty and restoring more tropical forests.

The success of our organization depends on being able to share the stories of partner farmers. Without your help, we cannot help these stories reach the ears of those who can help. Your skills will empower us to share impactful stories about climate change.

Our mission

We preserve the environment by partnering with families to improve well-being through sustainable farming.

What we do

In Central America, inadequate farming practices cause devastating poverty and deforestation. The harmful cycle of slash-and-burn farming not only destroys tropical forests but does not produce enough to meet the basic needs of a farmer's family.

Sustainable Harvest International helps people + the planet.

With generous support from donors, we've worked with families in rural farming communities in Central America since 1997. Using organic vegetable gardens, wood-conserving stoves, seed saving and a host of other projects, our local field trainers work together with families, individuals and communities to preserve our planet's tropical forests while overcoming poverty. Our five-phase approach to solving the agricultural, ecological and economic problems of Central America is innovative, hands-on, and long-term.
