This project will save us $7,500, allowing us to focus on building our app to educate and connect young designers to new career opportunities.

What We Need

  • Expert third party advice on process or managerial changes, geographic or programmatic expansion, potential pivots, or general strategic planning
  • Facilitation of an intensive, one-day strategic planning session with staff and/or Board
  • Note: If necessary, a follow-up strategic planning session may be scheduled

How This Will Help

The success of our organization depends on helping designers grow their career. Without your help, we cannot effectively communicate our story and engage volunteers. Your skills will empower us to build the foundation we need to grow and be successful.

What We Have In Place

We currently have rough pitch deck and app built which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have We also have a small interim board and volunteers excited to help build the community and the ability to provide any other information you need.

We are a technology company, focused on building a platform of apps to help educate the design community. We want this to be a fun engaging community that thrives on growing designers and getting them into their next career opportunity.

Project Steps

  • Prep: Distribution of prep materials
    • Organization provides relevant background materials to make initial meeting more productive
  • Milestone 1: Background call
    • Professional and Volunteer Manager in charge of the Strategic Planning Session engage in a 30-minute phone call
    • Goals of the call are to answer any preliminary questions the Professional may have, and agree upon the goals and structure of the Strategic Planning Session
    • Professional sends any additional due diligence questions ahead of Strategic Planning Session(s)
    • Professional distributes an outline or itinerary ahead of Strategic Planning Session(s) (as necessary)
  • Milestone 2: Strategic Planning Session
    • Attendees include Professional, Organization Executive(s) and/or Board Member(s) involved in decision or strategic planning
    • If necessary, a follow-up session may be scheduled to address issues that may arise that require additional due diligence
Prerequisites for Professional
  • Background in strategic consulting or advisory work required
Prerequisites for Organization
  • Ability to clearly articulate the issue or situation your Organization is facing
  • A staff member and Board committed to the project

Our app will provide people of all ages and backgrounds the means to connect with mentors, utilize our resources, find career opportunities, apply for design scholarships, find design events, and much more.
