What we have in place
- The Music Festival is a well-established event, organized by a small group of volunteers, supported by Conservancy staff. We have significant private sector partners and, building on good promotional efforts this year, feel ready to take it a step further. We already have an outline of what we want to do in place, working with sponsors, partner non-profits and others. This has been a wonderful day out for the immediate community but has the potential to be so much more - a wonderful location, great food and the best of NJ music. Help us get there!
How this will help
This project will save us $11,198 , allowing us to better protect a beautiful and culturally rich part of our shared heritage.
The Sourland Music Festival is the main fundraising event for the Conservancy and an important way to educate people about the Sourland Mountain. It has become a great niche event but has real potential that we have been unable to reach due to lack of personnel and resources. We believe that we have those now and that we can make the Festival significantly more successful if we can reach more people. First step is to draft a marketing strategy to help us do that.

Testimonials
We could not have asked for more. Despite a busy job and getting married (!), Erin was able to bring in colleagues with specific skills, really listen to what we were looking forward and present to us a strategy which will, I think, be an excellent framework to take our marketing efforts forward. Erin also gave us ideas and contacts outside of the strategy which we hope will be v useful. Erin was v pleasant, as was her colleague Patti, good at keeping in touch and great to work with. Thank you!
This was an amazing experience. When beginning this project I did not expect that it would of blossomed into a larger project. From an external perspective the team at Sourland was very transparent with their needs and open to our assistance. They were very appreciative of what we could offer. Internally at BMS I was able to tap into other team members skills to allow Sourlands to benefit from all of BMS Skills to Give :) Huge thank you to Alicia Coghlan for recommending Patty Simmers who merged the final presentation that gave Sourlands an excellent roadmap for their 2018 Music Festival.
