Project

Mission, Vision & Values

Justice & Legal Services

This project will save us $8,773 , allowing us to print legal guides for low income veterans, answer website inquiries helping cancer patients throughout the nation locate local legal relief, and provide Know Your Rights training and materials.

What We Need

  • Review of existing mission, vision and/or values
  • Analysis of the existing programs and any future plans
  • Strategic consultation surrounding the existing functions and the core need the Organization seeks to address
  • Freshly written mission, vision & values statements

How This Will Help

In the past year, our practice has grown dramatically. This project will help us grow by allowing us to concisely articulate the strengths and importance of our program's work as well as our value to the community and those we work with. Furthermore, as a leader in the MLP community, we want our mission to continue to reflect and evolve with our program.

What We Have In Place

We currently have a mission statement that we would like to update which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have enthusiastic staff participation, a desire to grow as an program and professionals, and the ability to provide any other information you need.

Fun Fact

LegalHealth is the largest medical-legal partnership in the country and we recently opened the first legal clinic that exclusively serves women veterans.

Our Mission

LegalHealth partners with medical professionals to address the non-medical needs of low-income people with serious health problems. LegalHealth complements health care with legal care – providing free legal services in medical facilities and training healthcare professionals to understand the legal issues their patients face. LegalHealth extends its mission nationally by providing technical assistance to bring medical and legal partners together. Since 2001, LegalHealth’s dedicated staff has improved the lives of over 26,000 low-income New Yorkers with serious health needs. Where social conditions pose a barrier to improved health, the LegalHealth team can advocate to ensure a patient’s right to access care, basic benefits, stable housing and immigration remedies. LegalHealth’s training of health care providers at its partner hospitals raises awareness among the health care professionals to the non-medical barriers to improved patient health and they become actively involved in referring and advocating for their patients.
