How This Will Help

We have served lower northwest Philadelphia for over 80 years, and in that time our neighborhood, and thus our constituency, has changed dramatically. Your help will give us the tools to identify how the changing demographics impact the way we market our programs and services. This project is in line with our current strategic plan.

What We Have In Place

We currently have a good relationship with community stakeholders which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have some preliminary demographic studies from our strategic planning process and the ability to provide any other information you need.

Fun Fact

We were founded in 1936 as North Light Boys' Club, and became part of Boys' Clubs of America. In the 1940's we wanted to include girls in our programs and were told no by Boys' Clubs, so we left and have been an independent non-profit ever since.

What We Do

North Light Community Center is a place where children learn and play in a safe and nurturing environment, teens learn life and entrepreneurial skills to realize their full potential, and families receive critical assistance. Programs include a state-licensed childcare facility with year-round school-age programs, arts and recreation, emergency supports, on-site tutoring, youth leadership training and workforce development, parenting education and access to technology.
