Earned Income Plan
Project details
What we need
- Assessment and recommendations for income-generating activities that will complement the Organization's current mission and existing programs
- Actionable steps necessary to implement recommendations, alongside estimates of upfront time and monetary investment required
- Challenges and potential risks identified in pursuing the plan
What we have in place
- Relay For Life is a sophisticated product/event supported by over 2.5 million volunteers with a pervasive presence across the United States. We have extensive social media networks, a mission and culture focused on healthy lifestyles (nutrition and physical activity), a strong brand and plenty of data to support our mission initiatives.
How this will help
This project will save us $11,794 , allowing us to conduct more life-saving cancer research studies.
Relay For Life is the world's largest movement to end cancer. In a market impacted by increased competition, an overwhelming influx of new players, and changing landscape, we are looking for innovative ways to maintain an edge in a saturated space. The American Cancer Society would like to explore the opportunity of fundraising through wearables (i.e. Fitbit) as part of Relay For Life. This will allow us to open up new revenue streams and engage new and existing participants in exciting new ways.

Our mission
The American Cancer Society’s mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.
What we do
The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Our Global Headquarters are located in Atlanta, Georgia, and we have regional and local offices throughout the country to ensure we have a presence in every community.
While most people know us for our research, we do so much more. We attack cancer from every angle. We promote healthy lifestyles to help you prevent cancer. We research cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatments. We fight for lifesaving policy changes. We provide everything from emotional support to the latest cancer information for those who have been touched by cancer. And we do it all 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
