What We Need

  • Outline of the ideal Board structure, and specific roles to be filled

  • Marketing tools and guidance on how to execute recruitment
  • Note: This project does not include actual Board recruitment on the part of the Professional

What We Have In Place

We currently have an information packet for prospective board members which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have bylaws and the ability to provide any other information you need.

Our organization has an awesome band called the Epitome of Soul Experience who our supporters love!

  • Prep: Distribution of prep materials
    • Volunteer Manager communicates existing Board structure, including background on Board members and specific roles or committees, if applicable
    • Volunteer Manager provides relevant materials on Organizational history
  • Milestone 1: Information gathering
    • Professional connects with Volunteer Manager and one or more board members to assess specific Organizational needs and goals for Board involvement
  • Milestone 2: Board Structure strategy
    • Professional outlines strategy for ideal number of Board members, and specific roles to be filled
    • Volunteer Manager provides feedback, which Professional incorporates
  • Milestone 3: Candidate evaluation guide and recruitment tools
    • Professional outlines key criteria to guide recruitment of prospective Board members
    • Professional helps write descriptions of specific Board roles to be filled
    • Professional provides any guidance on potential recruiting channels
Prerequisites for Professional
  • Executive level experience in business or nonprofit management, board development, or senior leadership hiring
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders to accomplish goals
Prerequisites for Organization
  • A staff member and Board (if one exists) committed to the project
  • Clearly articulated strategic plan and Organizational goals
  • A vision for your Board that goes beyond fundraising

Our Mission

Epitome of Soul, Inc. partners with community organizations to equip, empower, and encourage elementary and high school students to strive for academic excellence and cultural growth through the arts.

What We Do

Epitome of Soul aims to create a platform in performing arts celebrating all varieties of music, dance, drama, theater and creative writing with the sole purpose of enriching the cultural dynamics of underserved school communities. Our primary initiative is to organize youth groups to undertake projects that benefit the community and encourage leadership, character, compassion, and good citizenship. In addition, help high school and college students further their education by providing financial assistance through scholarships.
