Strategic Plan
Project details
What we need
- Analysis of the Organization’s current needs, long-term goals, programs, competitive standing and resources
- Recommendations for an appropriate course of action to reach the desired objectives, including allocation of resources and how to measure success
- Plan outlining the resources and steps required to reach short- and long-term goals
What we have in place
- We have a brochure, an elevator pitch, a facebook group with close to 100 followers, a draft short term and long term plan. We also have board members that have been with the organization since its founding over ten years ago and are fully committed. We also have a website. We have a team on the ground in Kenya that handles the day to day responsibilities including program monitoring.
How this will help
This project will save us $12,550 , allowing us to provide education, meals, uniforms and school supplies to 45 orphans and other vulnerable children for a whole year.
Our ability to continue to provide education, meals and basic health to vulnerable children and their families in rural Kenya depends on our ability to articulate our interventions and their success to our stakeholders. However, as the needs increase and competition for scarce resources intensifies, we need to be able to set goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely; and we must clearly communicate them to our stakeholders. More and more of our funders are demanding this and we have recently lost a grant due to the failure to create a plan for the organization.
Project plan
Our mission
To improve the quality of education for children in rural Africa by providing affordable quality education, basic health-care, nutritional food and a home for those that have been orphaned as a result of HIV/Aids and other tragedies.
What we do
We use a holistic approach to address the needs of these vulnerable children. Not only do we address their needs, but also those of the community as a whole. We provide them with relevant training. In Kenya, we provide training in modern farming techniques and community health.
