Storytelling
Storytelling
Project details
What we need
- A compelling narrative, or set of stories
- Persuasive copy that can be used in appeals to donors, annual reports, grant applications, and media relations
- Popular examples: Organization's founding story, a program achievement or milestone, a look back at the past few years, organizational backgrounder, etc.
- Note: This project is not intended to support your general content planning or marketing but there are several projects in our Marketing & Communications category which are a good fit!
What we have in place
- We have been around for over 7 years and have over 2000 followers on our Facebook page. We have several families who have been with us for years on end who would be willing to share their stories. In addition we have been featured in several newspaper or print magazines.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to reach 20 families of children with special needs as well as donors who could potentially fund ISW.
To tell our story is to tell the stories of every child with special needs that has worked so hard while under our care. As a non-profit we need to communicate why our organization is an instrumental part of our community and why funding is critical. But it isn't just funding, the right story will help us with marketing our unique programs as well as attract potential strategic partners. The story and showcasing the journey is critical. We haven't successfully communicated all that we do and currently are not able to reach our full potential to serve the community.

About Us:
Founded in October of 2007, It's a Sensory World! was created by a parent, Rekha Suryanarayana, and a teacher, Angela Stephens. Together their vision was to create a space where children with special needs would not only be accepted but celebrated. It's a Sensory World! began as the first recreational sensory gym in the state and the second in the nation. Over time, It's a Sensory World! has grown to include unique, sensory-based educational and recreational programming filling the service delivery gaps in the region. It's a Sensory World! serves hundreds of children with special needs and their families from 73 zip codes throughout North Texas and is well-known in the community for providing heartfelt, high-quality services.
