Project details

What we need
  • A compilation of research on a specific topic (e.g. industry best practices, literature review, media contacts, industry trends, etc.) including a list of sources
  • Recommendations on areas for further exploration/research
  • Note: This project is not designed to be used for prospect or grant research
Additional details

I am looking for demographic information about Greenfield, Massachusetts, including the number of after-school, tutoring, and academic enrichment programs that exist for elementary and middle-school age children.
I would also like information about the numbers of immigrant and refugee children in the Greenfield Public Schools, the percentage of African-American, and Latinx students in the Greenfield Public Schools, and the average income of people of Color vs. Caucasion living in Greenfield.

What we have in place
  • We have a great deal of information about Twice as Smart, an after-school enrichment program for under-served children living in Greenfield, Massachusetts, including a website, narratives from two recent grant proposals, as well as my own knowledge as a board member and grant writer for Twice as Smart.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,239 , allowing us to save funds to pay to obtain this information and to use these funds for Twice as Smart's operational expenses.

In order to make the case for the need for funding for Twice as Smart, it would be helpful if the organization can demonstrate more specifically what we are pretty certain is a lack of affordable supplementary educational and mental health programs in the community, as well as evidence that the children we work with, who are mainly children of color living in public housing represent a demographic whose income is substantially less than that of the Caucasian population.
