Seeking expert assistance in developing a comprehensive budget template and crafting an operational budget tailored to our small organization's unique needs.

What we have in place
  • We currently have an early draft of a budget template, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have people who can assist with this, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $9,114 , allowing us to use the dollars to prioritize fundraising.

A well-structured budget will serve as a roadmap for our organization's growth, enabling us to optimize resource allocation and identify potential fundraising opportunities.

Prep: Distribution of Prep Materials
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with materials currently being used for financial planning, such as the current operating budget or chart of accounts, and current financial statements
  • Volunteer Manager also provides any additional materials that will affect budgeting, such as a fundraising plan, earned income plan, or business plan

Milestone 1: Information Gathering & Outline
  • Professional does additional due diligence to address any questions or issues
  • Professional creates a detailed outline for the budget, to be shared with Volunteer Manager for feedback

Milestone 2: Budget Creation
  • Professional creates budget and shares it with the Volunteer Manager for feedback
  • Professional incorporates any feedback into the model for final draft version

Milestone 3: Explanation & Training
  • Professional delivers the budget, alongside a detailed written or verbal explanation of how the budget should be utilized and modified in the future
  • Professional provides advice on how to record and reconcile actual expenses against the budget

Our mission

The afrolatin@ forum centers Blackness within Latinidad and focuses on Latin@s of African descent in the United States to provide a bridge that expands our understanding of the African Diaspora. We support the struggle for racial and social justice through dialogue and action by engaging communities, forging coalitions, creating accessible educational materials, and organizing public events. We have an anti-racist, anti-patriarchal, and anti-capitalist lens, and seek to affirm all aspects of AfroLatinidad. Our work is guided by a communal perspective that recognizes the centrality of race in today's global reality.

What we do

The afrolatin@ forum envisions a world where Black Latinidad is affirmed and the contributions of the African Diaspora are embraced as central within Latinidad and essential in the world. We work to ensure that AfroLatinxs improve their quality of life by repairing the impact of white supremacy.
