Project details

What we need
  • A concise, well-articulated letter (not exceeding two pages) to request funds from individual donors
What we have in place
  • We have samples of past letters, which should make it easy for you to get started. We are willing to change whatever we is necessary to create a more effective piece. We can also provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,140 , allowing us to provide healthy meals for 16 preschoolers from low-income families for one month.

The success of our organization depends on our ability to continually grow potential resources. We have grown our programs and services substantially over the past several years. This project will help ensure we continue making a larger impact by reaching our annual fundraising goals.

We have had some success raising corporate and foundation funds and want to increase our individual/annual campaign support as well. A well-crafted letter would help us communicate to potential donors the impact they are making through their gifts.

Our mission

Waikiki Community Center's mission to care for our kupuna (elders), keiki (children) and community as `ohana (family).

What we do

Touch the Lives of Kupuna (elders) - We provide services to address whole-person wellness as well as urgent needs for seniors at risk of losing their independence and/or who need help accessing basic needs such as food, housing, medical care and transportation.

Close the Achievement Gap for our Keiki (children) - We providing quality early education and family support to close the persistent and growing achievement gap between children from low to moderate income families and their more advantaged peers.

Create a Stronger Community - We engage coalitions of community partners to build a stronger community, addressing issues of interest to community members such as disaster preparedness and pedestrian safety. Since the pandemic we dramatically increased support for the urgent needs of our seniors, families and unemployed visitor industry workers with our emergency food pantry and rental assistance services.
