What we need
- Analysis of accounting needs and assessment of current accounting practices
- Recommendations for process improvements and report generation
- Recommendations for appropriate bookkeeping software and related costs (if necessary)
- Implementation of chosen bookkeeping software (if necessary)
- Training on data input and essential reports to generate
What we have in place
- We have a bare bones skeleton structure in place. We utilize an online bookkeeping utility and we submit the required State and Federal forms each year so we have a handle on what goes out and comes in and to where. We are also competent in basic accounting terms and concepts, but they are "silo'd". We have the energy and desire to understand the moving parts as a whole.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,779 , allowing us to provide tools to over 5000 people affected by IBD.
Being a small non-profit, we don't have extensive accounting needs, but we require the basics. This is not our strong suit so, we would really appreciate someone coming in and simply reviewing our current processes and advising where we would be best off making some changes and giving us some guidance on best practices.
Accounting tends to be seen as a necessary evil and we'd like to partner with someone who can help us actually enjoy working with our numbers and maximizing our financial potential to ultimately better help our community.

Our mission
The Great Bowel Movement is a social awareness movement with the goals of empowering patients associated with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) including Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, as well as J-Pouch and Ostomy, to embrace their disease, be proud of their experience, and spread awareness throughout their communities.
