Project details

What we need
  • Feedback on the current website’s layout, user functionality, mobile-friendliness, visual design, content, and other key features
  • Clear articulation of the Organization’s goals for the website
  • Recommendations for improvements to help achieve the Organization’s desired goals
  • Note: If you are looking for a more specific, in-depth audit of your website's design and usability, try our Website Usability Audit project
Additional details

We would appreciate help to implement some of the more complex recommendations (e.g if current server (wordpress) is insufficient)

What we have in place
  • We have a clear idea of the key goals for our website and the content we want to put in it. This includes biographies, press releases, photos, testimonials and a clear outline of our operations. We also have Twitter account with 120 followers and a Facebook page with 1100 'likes'.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,762 , allowing us to provide stability, support and education for 100 children who without us would not find support elsewhere.

At Project Rousseau we are excellent at achieving our mission - 'to prepare our students to realize their full potential and pursue higher education'. However, we face a big communication problem - our website does not adequately inform potential funders and partners of our remarkable achievements and future potential. With your help we can close this information gap. This will help us increase our donor stream and form partnerships with other organisations which in turn will further enable us to help our students in every facet of their development.

Our mission

Our mission is to provide talented, underprivileged high school students with the opportunity to reach their full potential. We recognize that this requires a holistic approach, and we therefore provide comprehensive tutoring and mentoring to the students throughout their entire high school career. Students are matched one-to-one to a mentor for their entire high school career. We hope to be the tutors, friends, and role models that our students need to flourish.

What we do

Project Rousseau matches college students one-to-one with high school students who are in the same stages of their respective educations (9th graders with college freshmen, 10th graders with college sophomores, etc), so that each of our mentees has one mentor for his or her entire high school career. The goal of the program is to maximize high school students’ potential to thrive in a college environment; we strive to give every mentee the opportunity of a college education.

This is a very exciting time for Project Rousseau, and we are looking forward to our new initiatives. In July, we will be bringing a group of mentees to Washington D.C., a wonderful opportunity for them to learn and be exposed to our government and our history. This December, a group of Project Rousseau volunteers will be conducting French seminars in Haiti. With many new chapters opening up across the country and around the world, we look forward both to supporting our new mentees and the Project Rousseau Exchange Program, which will be launched in the summer of 2012.
