What we need

We are incorporating a marketing and publicity campaign to help raise the profile of our agency in the surrounding area. We are struggling on how to shape our message in a media friendly way as well as struggling on how to best reach media outlets.

  • A print & electronic press kit for our organization, which generally includes the following: Mission & Vision, historical information about our organization, biographies of senior staff, fact sheet, logo consultation using existing logos, supplementary multimedia such as a promotional video, and any major press releases
  • Press release template
  • Recommendations on how to build relationships with the media
What we have in place
  • We currently have designated help, written material and an event to promote, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have the ability to create more audio and video, a logo to work with, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,027 , allowing us to provide 5 cribs and mattresses to our youngest clients.

Having the ability to tell our story to a wider audience is paramount to helping our agency not only educate the community about what we do, but also help us connect with like minded individuals who are as passionate about our cause, homelessness. We are in the process of expanding our services and outreach in the community and we feel that cultivating a relationship with various media outlets will enable us to increase our profile and pool of resources. This manifests itself in increased donations and alliances with other organizations to help us reach our goals.

Our mission

Turning Point Community Services, Inc. (TPCS), provides emergency shelter and support services for homeless women and their children. The goal of TPCS is to develop and implement programs that facilitate a person’s ability to become self-sufficient by helping them to break the cycles of violence, substance abuse, poverty, and incarceration that have permeated their lives and placed them at increased risk for homelessness.

What we do

TPCS’ enhanced emergency housing model offers on site assistance to clients in need of additional support services. Services are based upon an intensive family-centered case management model that includes a multi-step process which ensures coordinated and expeditious access to a range of appropriate social, health, and medical services for the client and their identified family members. All services are structured to facilitate a consumer’s level of independent functioning and overall quality of life.

All shelter clients have access to a full range of supportive services. TPCS maintains an appropriate facility for housing clients and delivers ancillary support services to women and their children.

Ancillary social services are designed to move a client toward developing a realistic permanent housing plan. Since people enter a shelter and/or housing program at varying levels of readiness, TPCS provides individualized services designed to meet the client and her family where they are in terms of readiness for permanent housing. The overall program goal is geared toward moving families through the program toward permanent housing with supportive follow-up services as needed and/or requested.

TPCS is entering it next evolution of support services by providing job training skills to clients to help them find meaningful, sustainable employment which will ultimately end the cycle of poverty and homelessness. Through social enterprises owned and operated by TPCS, not only will clients develop vital job skills, but TPCS will gain long term sustainability through varied streams of revenue.
