Our mission

To help a nation get itself out of poverty. We are working in Mozambique on an education initiative with a focus on curriculum development and teacher training, which includes technology.

What we do

Despite thousands of visitors spending, and corporations and countries investing billions of dollars in Africa each year, the reality of abject poverty remains as bleak today as it was 10 years ago. In 2007, CouldYou? was founded to address issues surrounding poverty in Africa and especially to find new paradigms for an African future not centered around receiving aid.

We focus our efforts on establishing and nurturing dynamic, global partnerships between forward thinking Africans and Westerners. CY’s goal is to effect growth and change by providing a forum for information exchange and sharing best practices as well as developing leadership among our participants and African leaders in order to collaborate on tackling issues of poverty.

CY is committed to ensuring participants become true partners, developing mutually rewarding relationships while respecting the integrity of each other’s work. Currently, our work is focused on education in Mozambique.

We are concentrating on finding effective ways to develop the country’s educational system, focusing on curriculum reform and teacher training in order to prepare a workforce.

We are building partnerships with western school districts, universities, teachers, individuals and businesses to partner with us in Mozambique, the 3rd poorest country in the world.
