Project details

What we need
  • Analysis of the organization’s current donor base
  • Assessment of an organization’s target demographics, existing marketing materials and fundraising objectives
  • Recommendations for an appropriate course of action to recruit donors, including identification of new resources and most appropriate marketing methods
What we have in place
  • We have a database of donors that we update regularly and subscriptions to Constant Contact, Network for Good, and MobileCause. We also have Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube accounts. Our corporate sponsors include The Honest Company, Goldman Sachs, Nielsen, Houlihan Lokey, Wells Fargo, Wilshire Bank, Procter & Gamble, and others. In recent events, we've welcomed John Legend, Rachel Zoe, Jessica Alba, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Lisa Loeb, and we've been covered by Variety, LA Weekly, and People Magazine among others. We'd like to be able to share these connections more widely and engage other high net worth supporters.
How this will help
This project will save us $8,000 , allowing us to provide comprehensive support and guidance regarding the independent school admissions process for 200 families of color currently underrepresented in the independent school classroom.

In the summer of 2013, the founding Executive Director retired after nearly 30 years of service. As we move into this new chapter of our organization's history, we want to take this opportunity to re-brand our name and our image. We are a small organization with limited resources, and as such, we are unable to fully realize our goals without outside assistance. This project will help us appeal to donors and assure our success for another 30 years.

Our mission

It is the mission of the Independent School Alliance to inform members of racial communities presently underrepresented in independent schools of the option of independent school education; to identify applicants from these communities and assist them in the application process; to provide on-going support programs for students and their families; and to act as a resource to member schools assisting them in their individual efforts to address issues of racial diversity and multicultural education.
