Project details

What we need
  • A thorough analysis of the current fundraising strategy and tactics
  • Clear fundraising targets for the next 2-4 years, tied to the organization's operating budget and program goals
  • Strategic planning around which tactics to should pursue (e.g., grants, crowdfunding, e-giving, direct mail, events, and galas), and audiences to target (e.g., individual, major donor groups, foundations, corporations, or government)
  • Clear timelines to help the organization execute on the proposed tactics
What we have in place
  • We have established a base of interested potential donors and foundations that support the arts. We are able to show the work we do through performances of our young artists as well as through video documentaries. Our board is committed to creating a strategic fundraising plan to be able to strengthen our organization and to offer the best young artists this key training.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,500 , allowing us to award 3 partial scholarships to top students.

Our training programs in France and Italy for emerging opera singers have been changing the lives of young singers since 2009. We have begun to connect with foundations and potential donors through gala concerts, fundraising events, and now through professional documentary videos made from our programs last summer. We are ready to establish a fundraising strategy which will give us a secure financial base to be able to significantly impact the next generation of opera singers.

Our mission

Classic Lyric Arts (CLA) offers opportunities for young opera singers to advance their studies of the languages and cultures of classical vocal repertoire, providing educational workshops internationally, and supporting participants in their progression from students to young professional artists.

What we do

CLA is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization offering two training programs: CLA Italy/La Lingua della Lirica (the Language of Opera), established in 2009 in the region of Emilia-Romagna, focuses on the principles of Italian bel canto; and CLA France/L'Art du Chant Français (The Art of French Singing), established in 2012 in the Périgord region, trains singers in the art of French opéra and mélodies.

With the belief that the beauty of opera and song is intrinsically connected to the music of language, the teaching staff includes Italian, French and American artists working in the field of classical vocal studies. CLA offers training in diction, style, repertoire, stagecraft, and career development, as well as international performing opportunities, building a bridge for the next generation of musicians to this rich cultural, linguistic and musical heritage.
