What we need
- Analysis of accounting needs and assessment of current accounting practices
- Recommendations for process improvements and report generation
- Recommendations for appropriate bookkeeping software and related costs (if necessary)
- Implementation of chosen bookkeeping software (if necessary)
- Training on data input and essential reports to generate
What we have in place
- We currently have Quickbooks for Non-Profits which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have two years of reports using this system and the ability to provide any other information you need. Our treasurer oversees our bookkeeping and has extensive experience in tax preparation. We realize that we can expand our use of the quickbooks system to more efficiently run our non-profit orgaization.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,779 , allowing us to award 3 partial scholarships to top students.
Classic Lyric Arts is about to begin its 9th international program for aspiring opera singers. Establishing a solid accounting system that encompasses our activities in France, Italy and the US is crucial as we reach out to individuals, foundations and corporations for support. This project will ensure that our business model is as strong as our artistic mission, and will allow us to focus our energies on our young artists.

Our mission
Classic Lyric Arts (CLA) offers opportunities for young opera singers to advance their studies of the languages and cultures of classical vocal repertoire, providing educational workshops internationally, and supporting participants in their progression from students to young professional artists.
What we do
CLA is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization offering two training programs: CLA Italy/La Lingua della Lirica (the Language of Opera), established in 2009 in the region of Emilia-Romagna, focuses on the principles of Italian bel canto; and CLA France/L'Art du Chant Français (The Art of French Singing), established in 2012 in the Périgord region, trains singers in the art of French opéra and mélodies.
With the belief that the beauty of opera and song is intrinsically connected to the music of language, the teaching staff includes Italian, French and American artists working in the field of classical vocal studies. CLA offers training in diction, style, repertoire, stagecraft, and career development, as well as international performing opportunities, building a bridge for the next generation of musicians to this rich cultural, linguistic and musical heritage.
