Website Audit
Website Audit
Project details
What we need
- Feedback on the current website’s layout, user functionality, mobile-friendliness, visual design, content, and other key features
- Clear articulation of the Organization’s goals for the website
- Recommendations for improvements to help achieve the Organization’s desired goals
- Note: If you are looking for a more specific, in-depth audit of your website's design and usability, try our Website Usability Audit project
What we have in place
- Two of our three staff members are familiar with how to update our Drupal-based website. The version of Drupal our site runs on is being phased out, and we are interested in switching to a Wordpress site that is more user-friendly for novices. We have some familiarity with Wordpress.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,762 , allowing us to provide 200 hours of legal services aimed at changing systems that perpetuate poverty.
Hawaii Appleseed advocates for lasting changes to systems that perpetuate poverty. We conduct research, write reports, and advocate in the courts, legislature, and media to create opportunities for self-sufficiency for low-income people in Hawaii. Our website is central to our communications about our work. We also rely on the site to generate donations to support our work. Our site has been built entirely in-house by staff with no web building experience. This project is critical to increasing the impact of our communications and fundraising efforts.
Project plan
Our mission
Hawai'i Appleseed is working to build a more socially just Hawai'i, where everyone has genuine opportunities to achieve economic security and fulfill their potential. We change systems that perpetuate inequality and injustice through policy development, coalition building, and advocacy.
What we do
At Hawai'i Appleseed, we carry out our mission by engaging in:
- Advocacy at state and local departments to ensure that the policies, laws, and practices intended to address the problems of those living in poverty are well designed and implemented fairly and effectively
- Policy reports that educate and inform key stakeholders of the issues facing the communities we represent and provide ingenious, high-quality solutions to the problems that we work on
- Workshops and other educative measures to inform low income individuals and groups of their rights and how to exercise them
- Grassroots coalition-building with other community groups who share a common interest in alleviating poverty in Hawai'i, and supporting the work of public interest advocates in Hawai'i through collaborative partnerships
