Project details

What we need
  • Grant Template outlining the Organization’s mission, strategic plan, activities and budget
  • Tips and suggestions on customizing Grant Template for specific grants
What we have in place
  • We currently have operating budget and strategic plan, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a membership to Grant Station, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,140 , allowing us to provide our autism story apps to 100 elementary schools to use in their classrooms.

70% of autistic children are bullied and isolated in school. We have an opportunity to change that statistic through our autism story apps and curriculum. There are grant opportunities that we would like to take advantage of and having a grant template will increase our chances for successful fundraising. Your help will make a difference for our mission of autism acceptance, understanding and compassion through storytelling.

Our mission

Geek Club Books, 501c3, tells the stories of autism through apps, digital media, webisodes and curriculum to ignite hearts and open minds so all individuals with autism have every opportunity in this world to shine.

What we do

Geek Club Books is a nonprofit that's a creative studio focused on innovative, entertaining autism education. And who better to tell the stories of autism than those who are autistic? We have a team of autistic adults who work with us on everything we produce.

WE ADDRESS TWO IMPORTANT ISSUES FOR THE AUTISM COMMUNITY:

1) Public awareness and acceptance.
2) Autism employment

HERE ARE SOME OF OUR LATEST PROJECTS:

MIGHTY LEAGUE AUTISM STORY APPS entertain while educating children about autism. For the first time, children on the autism spectrum can read stories about characters just like them. What’s even better is that our story apps are being used in classrooms along with our curriculum to teach their peers about autism. Some parents have used our stories as a way to start talking about autism within their own families. It gives siblings a chance to understand and ask questions.

BLUEBEE TEEVEE AUTISM INFORMATION STATION Currently, no one is doing a form of autism education that’s a part of pop culture…so we are! We believe that bringing the topics of autism to the mainstream will increase understanding and significantly reduce bullying. In partnership with Bluebee Pals and QSAC, we are producing a new series of webisodes called Bluebee TeeVee Autism Information Station. What’s so great about them is that they are written, filmed, performed and edited by two autistic adults. They are fun and creative while clinically correct and educational.
