Project details

What we need
  • Print-ready designed brochure template provided in a high-resolution format (jpeg, pdf, etc.)
  • Collateral, to be used in conjunction with the Brochure Writing project, for new marketing materials
  • Accurate, print-ready specifications
  • Note: This project does not include printing
Additional details

While our copy is mostly complete, we have listed "copy editing" as another project, as our current draft needs to be shortened and made more readable and appealing. If this is something you can help with too, we would be very excited!

What we have in place
  • We have near final draft copy that is updated but may be too "wordy." We lots have lots of pictures, a ready to go logo and tag line and some graphic icons. The director and Board will be available to review and provide needed information, and we have a part-time intern who can help pull or take more pictures if needed.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to fund 200 hours of recruitment and training of 40 volunteers to help youth in public housing learn to read.

As a small non-profit that depends on donors and volunteers, we have a great need to be able to provide information on what we do, our programs, the problem, and how people can get involved in a wide variety of settings. Our past brochure template is over 10 years old and we have added programs, services, so both the style and information is very outdated. Having a new, updated brochure will help us increase our outreach, build awareness around illiteracy, and add new resources and volunteers.

Our mission

Hawaii Literacy is dedicated to increasing literacy for adults and children in Hawai'i, a critical step in breaking cycles of poverty and under-education. Our mission is "to empower Hawaii's children and adults with essential reading, writing, and lifelong learning skills to strengthen themselves, families and communities." Since 1971, Hawaii Literacy has provided tutoring to thousands of adults needing a second chance to learn to read and write, find work, and help their children, and helps disadvantaged children become readers and succeed in school. With the help of 300 volunteers, Hawai'i Literacy serves nearly 3,000 people in need each year.
