Project details

What we need
  • Assistance with setting up a Google Analytics account and tracking codes for the Organization’s various web assets (e.g. mobile apps, website, blog, social media)
  • Training on how to track performance, set up reports and analyze the data collected online
  • Set of guidelines for data collection, interpretation and analysis
What we have in place
  • We currently have an existing Google Analytics account, a functional, user-friendly website and a staff member who is familiar with the platform and available to provide any additional information that you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,777 , allowing us to purchase uniforms and shoes for 60 young women who will enter ABAN's program this year.

In October 2013, we launched our new website, which has provided a beautiful platform through which to sell our products, receive donations and connect with supporters around the world. Now, we want to harness the power of Google Analytics to better understand our audience, how they interact with our site and social media accounts and how these interactions lead them to become customers and donors. This project will enable us to make full use of our site and to advance our mission through spreading our message and selling our products.

Our mission

A Ban Against Neglect breaks the cycle of poverty among young mothers in Ghana by helping them to empower themselves and their communities, and teaching them how to nurture their families and the environment.

What we do

The burgeoning West African metropolis of Accra, Ghana, is a deceiving lure for many rural teenagers growing up in poverty and hardship. With no other opportunities, thousands of Ghanaian young women abandon their families and rural communities for the city streets each year. But instead of empowering them, the city traps them. Pregnant without support and constantly hustling wares through the streets, they fight to protect themselves and their children from abuse and neglect.

ABAN breaks this cycle of poverty by intervening in young mothers’ lives before they take to the streets. Our ABAN Women’s Empowerment (AWE) program identifies vulnerable young mothers in rural areas near Accra, providing them with opportunities to flourish in their communities rather than risk hard life on the streets of Accra. While restoring each participant’s existing family connections, we teach her to nurture her child, build secure job opportunities and invest in her community. She leaves ABAN prepared to build a better future.

We also know empowerment requires community. That’s why our ABAN Community Employment (ACE) center provides vocational training for our students and produces our beautiful upcycled products from discarded plastic bags. Our focus on sustainability roots our students deeper in their community and their environment. We also seek partnership with local community leaders and offer quality childcare. Together, we build a stable community environment to nurture these young women and children on their journey toward empowerment.

Testimonials

From our first interview with Nassim we immediately noticed how much he knew about Google Analytics, but while working with him, we also discovered a kind and passionate human being behind the expert! It was a pleasure working with him and following his guidance to improve our processes. He has an innate interest on sharing his knowledge, and his hard work and dedication to the project guaranteed that we would reach the best results.
