Photography
Project details
What we need
- A photographer who will work with the Organization over 1-2 days to capture an important event or shoot a series of photographs to tell the Organization's story
- A set of professionally edited, high-resolution images delivered in JPEG or TIFF format suitable for web or print use
- Note: The photographer needs to be available in the same geographical location as the Organization or be willing to travel at own expense
What we have in place
- We have web content, flyers that need new photos and people who have given permission to be photographed. We have a website, peds.org, over 1,200 e-newsletter subscribers, a Facebook page with over 1,000 "likes" and over 500 twitter followers.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,048 , allowing us to increase safety for 10000 people who walk in metro Atlanta.
Photos help people learn in ways that words and numbers never can. We'd like to update a flyer on crosswalk laws by replacing images that were taken a decade ago. We'd also like photos of people walking on broken sidewalks or attempting to cross dangerous roads. These will help people understand the challenges PEDS addresses. Pictures tell stories and engage people more than statistics. We'd also like a new photo for our fundraising page. Something that inspires hope will be best. A photo of a parent and child may be best.

Our mission
PEDS is dedicated to making metro Atlanta safe and accessible to all pedestrians. We use advocacy, education and partnerships with others to inspire safe, enjoyable streets and walkable communities.
What we do
We work with transportation agencies, elected officials, community activists and others to promote safe crosswalk treatment, sidewalk maintenance, and increased compliance with laws protecting pedestrians. We participate actively in transportation planning meetings and generate media attention to issues important to pedestrians.
