Our mission
Nonprofit VOTE partners with America’s nonprofits to help the people they serve participate and vote. We provide high quality nonpartisan resources and tools to help nonprofits integrate voter engagement into their ongoing activities and services.
We are mobilizing the everyday contact nonprofits and service providers have with millions of Americans to increase voter participation and to close participation gaps, especially among populations underrepresented in the political process.
What we do
Nonprofit VOTE catalyzes and supports nonprofits to do nonpartisan voter registration and education to increase voter participation among their constituents, staff and local communities. We do this through -
(1) Creating well-designed voter engagement resources and tools:
o Guides, toolkits and fact sheets on what nonprofits can do on a
nonpartisan basis to promote voter registration, education and
get-out-the-vote or connect with candidates in elections
o A 50 state online guide to voting in your state, in partnership with
the National Association of Secretaries of State
o Vote posters, buttons and stickers and widgets for their website
(2) Hosting popular web trainings on “Getting Started with Nonprofit Voter Engagement”, “Hosting Candidate Forums”, “Working on Ballot Measures”, “Doing Voter Registration” and more
(3) Doing frequent communications to alert nonprofits of important deadlines, training opportunities and new resources
(4) Connecting nonprofits to trusted state and national partners for additional guidance and support
(5) Using data to let nonprofits know that they've made a difference when voting goes up in their community
