This project will save us $5,422 , allowing us to come up with a new logo, brand identity (color combination, website, etc) brochures and other marketing materials that will be suggested by the expert.

What We Need

  • Consultation regarding the Organization's current branding and desired branding objectives
  • Visual branding guidelines / style guide that include specific colors, fonts, and other graphic design elements to use in print and digital communications materials
  • High-resolution logo delivered electronically (in formats for digital and print use)

How This Will Help

We are changing the current name of our organization from SAVIC to the new name. The changes will come into effect in September 2018. With that, we hope to have a new logo and brand identify.

What We Have In Place

SAVIC is an organization that has existed for the past 8 years, and we have different documents that should get you started. These include our vision and mission statement, areas of focus, program descriptions, and logic models.

  • Location: Remote (work anywhere)

Project Steps

Prep: Distribution of Prep Materials
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with current logo (if available), branding guidelines, and any existing marketing/communications materials
  • Volunteer Manager sends Professional examples of logos, brands, and design elements preferred, and links to website and social media pages
Milestone 1: Brainstorm
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager connect to discuss the branding goals, target audience, and preferred design elements
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager agree upon a style concept and the detailed scope of deliverables (e.g., logo, custom graphics, updated style guide, new style guide, etc.)
Milestone 2: Logo Design
  • Professional drafts up to three different logo designs and shares with the Volunteer Manager for feedback
  • Volunteer Manager selects one of the design options and provides feedback
  • Professional iterates upon the design for final delivery, including versions of the logo for different uses (e.g., black & white, full color, and formats for print and digital use)
  • Professional delivers the final version of the logo including specifications for usage (colors, size, etc.)
Milestone 3: Visual Branding Guidelines / Style Guide
  • Professional drafts the visual branding guidelines, which features the logo design and a specific set of colors, fonts, and any custom graphic elements to be incorporated in future communications
  • Volunteer Manager reviews the draft guidelines and provides feedback
  • Professional incorporates feedback and prepares the final version
  • If custom graphics are included in the agreed-upon scope of work, the Professional provides them in high-resolution formats for digital and print use
Prerequisites for Professional
  • Experience creating logos
  • Portfolio examples of graphic designs
  • Proficiency with design software such as Adobe's Creative Cloud
Prerequisites for Organization
  • Clearly articulated branding goals and target audience
  • Preliminary design preferences and examples of logos or brands you like
  • Ability to share any existing marketing materials and style guides

Our Mission

SAVIC is a refugee-run Community-based Organization, with an aim to empower young refugees in Kakuma to take charge of their future by increasing access to information, services, vocational education and livelihoods development.

What We Do

SAVIC is a community-based organization operating in Kakuma refugee camp. We are a team built of enthusiastic, dedicated and dynamic refugees, who believe in the resilience, potential, and power of young people in Kakuma to create a better future for themselves. Using a community-based approach, we empower youth and adult refugees to regain full agency and control over their own lives, in terms of their reproductive health and livelihoods. With this control, refugee youth are better able to pursue education and livelihood opportunities in order to gain economic independence.

Thank you. I just saw this, having just renewed our membership. If you wouldn't mind taking a look at our website and Facebook page. We have a very recognized logo. Other than that, I think our image is getting stale.

With Susan's support and leadership, we this project has exceeded my expectation. Susan designed a high quality logo, and helped us chose a branding theme to represent us to the world. Thank you for all your help!

Project Manager

Logo Design & Visual Brand Identity Project

I worked with Muzabel, the organization's Executive Director. He was very professional and communicative. He was receptive to suggestions, but also brought his own ideas to the project. He made the time to provide feedback despite a very busy schedule.
