Our mission is to conserve birds and their habitats through science and outreach. We’re small, but have a large reach and have conducted avian research throughout the Bay Area for 35 years. Our data is used by universities to answer questions like “how does climate change impact birds,” and by land managers and advocacy groups to make informed decisions. We engage hundreds of citizen scientists and outreach volunteers and rely on partnerships and donations from the community. By helping us design our new website, you will allow us to keep our community of supporters engaged and excited about our work.
To conserve birds and their habitats through science and outreach education
Birds are excellent indicators of ecosystem health; they are highly visible and cost-effective to track, and are sensitive to environmental change. The San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory pays close attention to impacts on birds and their habitats and gathers crucial data specific to local bird populations. We share our data with land managers and others and actively provide opportunities for people to be directly involved in the nature and science of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Kristin was great to work with and it was a pleasure to have a positive influence on to the construction of their new website. We worked together well and made good progress. I would certainly recommend working with Kristin and the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory team.
