What we have in place
- Currently, we have a draft mission statement and series of immediate goals from which to develop a proposal. In addition, we have permission to utilize a network of prominent funding agencies.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,140 , allowing us to recruit and hire 5 research assistants and staff.
At present, all of the work done on Into the Light has been on a voluntary basis. This has diminished our ability to grow, secure help, or initiate the projects we hope to complete. It has also diminished our legitimacy. Grant writing and grant-obtaining will allow Into the Light to grow considerably, with the necessary help and resources to meet our mission. It will also allow us to dedicate greater time and attention to the scope of the work. Finally, it will increase our visibility as an organization and as an important stakeholder disability policy.

Our mission
To ensure quality of life and well-being for people with disabilities. In order to meet this goal, Into the Light will work to support the achievement of the global agenda built on the Sustainable Development Goals, which provide a future that leaves no one behind.
What we do
The success of the Sustainable Development Goals will be predicated on the collection and provision of data. It will also be predicated on ensuring that the data that are collected are, in fact, measuring what they are supposed to measure, are relevant to what the SDGs are looking to achieve, and are relevant to all people. Into the Light seeks to provide the data, information, and recommendations to ensure the achievement of the SDGs for people with disabilities.
