Logo Design & Visual Brand Identity

Project details

What we need
  • Consultation regarding the Organization's current branding and desired branding objectives
  • Visual branding guidelines / style guide that include specific colors, fonts, and other graphic design elements to use in print and digital communications materials
  • High-resolution logo delivered electronically (in formats for digital and print use)
What we have in place
  • The Legal Action Center is currently undergoing a branding revitalization. We just recently redesigned our website, but our current logo is decades old. We’d like to embark on a logo redesign as another step in this process. LAC has been around for four decades and we have a strong sense of our identity and mission, but we’re now looking for someone to help us articulate this identity in a new, contemporary way.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,817 , allowing us to provide free legal advice to about 20 clients with histories of criminal records, addiction and HIV/AIDS.

LAC is a small, 40 year old nonprofit with an esteemed history of legal work and an outsized impact. We’ve helped hundreds of thousands of people with histories of criminal records, addiction and HIV/AIDS through our policy advocacy and direct services. This logo redesign is meant to enhance our visual brand identity, which we believe will help us to better communicate who we are as an organization. The visual expression of LAC’s story will help us to appeal to grantmakers, donors, policymakers, clients – all our stakeholders – so that we can further our mission in our next 40 years.

Our mission

The Legal Action Center is the only non-profit law and policy organization in the U.S. whose sole mission is to fight discrimination against people with histories of addiction, HIV/AIDS, or criminal records, and to advocate for sound public policies in these areas. LAC is committed to helping people reclaim their lives, maintain their dignity, and participate fully in society as productive, responsible citizens.

What we do

Since our founding in 1973, the Legal Action Center has employed a multifaceted approach that includes legal services, litigation, policy advocacy, coalition-building, and education to guard the civil rights and civil liberties of our constituents - and to dismantle the discriminatory barriers that systematically deny them these rights and liberties.
