Project details

What we need
  • A document outlining the most appropriate social media channels, strategies for usage, goals and key metrics to evaluate success
  • Expert consultation on messaging, scheduling and frequency
  • Tailored suggestions for style, tone, and types of content to best showcase the Organization
Additional details

We're seeking an integrated media plan that addresses social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram), press releases, email marketing, and a small advertising budget. We're requesting a current state assessment, recommendations of new channels/media opportunities, and the creation of a Go to Market plan for September-December 2015.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a Facebook fan page (1171 likes), Twitter account (210 followers), Instagram account (486), Tumblr blog, and a Travel Changes You story-sharing initiative (travelchangesyou.org). We also have a list of press contacts.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,632 , allowing us to fund 2 additional student trips.

Trip of a Lifetime empowers underprivileged students to become catalysts for change in their communities through fully-funded summer travel experiences. This project will enable us to increase engagement with target audiences, including potential student participants, partners, and donors, presenting a unified, dynamic story across platforms. Specifically, September-December is our busiest time to connect with schools and students who would benefit our program, so we want to formulate a plan to reach more of them. Furthermore, consistent storytelling practices will enhance our ability to cultivate a Trip of a Lifetime brand identity, community, and network.

What we do

Trip of a Lifetime raises money to send underprivileged students from high schools and community organizations across the country on summer travel experiences. We have raised over $300,000 and have sent 32 students on trips to date. This summer, we are planning to send an additional 10-12 students on trips.

Below are some quotes from students that have taken part in Trip of a Lifetime's programs:

“As soon as I realized I stepped foot off the plane, a sudden excitement rushed through me. I felt like Charlie in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.” – Fatoumata S.

“I learned how to live in the moment and make the most of every day.” – Corel M

“The trip was the best summer of my life. I wish I can do it again next year.” – Emmanuel C
