Biography

Dawn has been working for individuals, families and children in the San Antonio community for 22 years. She has been with Christian Assistance Ministry (CAM) for the past 11 years. During her career, she has had an opportunity to work on issues impacting health, early childhood, education, workforce development, child abuse prevention and poverty. Poverty has been the most significant common theme for all of her work. Through her work at CAM she is able to help individuals facing many issues of poverty overcome the most urgent barriers or crisis in order to move forward or avoid further crisis. This work also links the power of prayer and faith while meeting individual's very real physical needs. Community Collaboration, partnerships, development of innovative programming and creativity have been the hallmark for much of this work. Dawn is also a member of the Leadership San Antonio Class 35 sponsored by the SA Greater Chamber and the Hispanic Chamber; a Children's Defense Fund Fellow, and was most recently selected by the San Antonio Business Journals as a 2020 Women's Business Leadership Award recipient.
