I am a recent graduate of The Ohio State University who studied environmental public health. After graduation, addressing poverty was important to me as it is the most influential factor of health outcomes for individuals and communities. Thus leading me to pursue a year of service through Americorps VISTA under the guidance of the Harvest Against Hunger cohort, a national gleaning organization. Americorps VISTA actively works to alleviate poverty in the US through capacity building for nonprofits. In my year of service as the Volunteer Manager at Iskashitaa Refugee Network I am excited and confident that Catchafire volunteers will be an integral part of this mission as well.
