Briane is the founder and Executive Director of American Reentry Initiative; a nonprofit organization that assists formerly incarcerated and court involved individuals navigate the court system and successfully reintegrate back into society. Briane is the main social programming architect of ARI, as well as the Supervising Intensive Case Manager of a growing team and caseload. Briane attained her Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University, where she was inducted into the National Criminal Justice Honors Society, Alpha Phi Sigma, for graduating at the top of her class. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology and Criminology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, having completed an internship at Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania and a semester abroad in Dominican Republic and Haiti studying crime in the Caribbean. Briane attained her Associate of Arts degree in Sociology from Middlesex County College. To keep at the forefront of criminal justice reform, Briane is a member of the American Society of Criminology and the British Society of Criminology. She is an advocate for harm reduction and currently sits on Middlesex County (NJ) Local Advisory Committee for Alcohol and Drug Addiction (LACADA) Board, an active community member for the Middlesex County Board of Mental Health, an active community member for the Vicinage Committee on Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement, as well as the Criminal Justice Chair of the NAACP Metuchen-Edison Branch.
