Elizabeth is passionate about supporting teachers in their complex work and providing all students access to content. Elizabeth taught 2nd and 3rd grades in Oakland, where she focused on supporting English learners in acquiring academic language and social and emotional skills. As a lead teacher, she facilitated her grade-level team in looking at student work collaboratively in order to better understand their students and inform instruction. Prior to joining Mills Teacher Scholars, Elizabeth worked at the Lawrence Hall of Science on a K-8 curriculum, where she focused on integrating supports for English learners, argumentation, and the Common Core State Standards for English Language Art into each unit. Elizabeth currently works to support school and district leaders to improve the conditions for adult learning at their sites, through our Lead by Learning series and our Creating the Conditions for Adult Learning workshops. Elizabeth received her B.A. in Ethics, Politics, and Economics from Yale University and her M.A. in Education from UC Berkeley.
