Annette Sobocinski, LMSW, JD, started her career working with at-risk children and families impacted by violence, poverty, unemployment, and homelessness at Whaley Children's Center in Flint, MI. While she initially worked as a therapist, she later took on several different management positions, culminating in the position of Chief Operating Officer. She then left Whaley to attend law school with the goal of broadening the impact she could have through advocacy and policy work on behalf of young children and families. She then entered the early childhood education field, and worked to improve systems for children and families within the Great Start Collaborative and Parent Coalition. She also worked as a Race to the Top Project Manager coordinating projects related to increasing the quality of child care situations for young children. As the current Executive Director at Child Care Network, she continues to work to improve access to high quality early care and education experiences thereby improving the lives of children and families within the counties that the agency serves, and in the state overall.
