Lisa is currently employed at NAMI New Jersey, The National Alliance on Mental as the Director of Outreach services. Lisa is also the AACT-NOW Program Coordinator (African American Community Together NOW), one of the homegrown multicultural programs that help educate the community to better understand cultural and treatment issues that affect their community. Lisa oversees the Dara Axelrod Expressive Arts Network another homegrown program where individuals can express their unique thoughts from pen to paper and she is Council Support to the NJ's Governor's Council on Mental Health Stigma. This task force was developed to find solutions to the obstacles that currently face those with mental illness and their families in the state of New Jersey.

Lisa came to NAMI NJ on the mission to education the public and the African American Community on mental illness and to enforce that Mental Illness does not discriminate, it affects everyone regardless of race, ethnicity or social economic class. Mental health stigma continues to exist, however, but the barriers of stigma is successfully being broken down now that society is being educated and realizes that there are misconceptions and falsehoods on mental illness.
