In 2014, Sara Knight committed herself to creating The Sweet Julia Grace Foundation in honor of her daughter Julia Grace who passed away at the age of 12 years old. SJGF is dedicated to granting wishes that bring joy and change lives, filling in the gaps that social, government and insurance services are unable to fill, and providing support with day-to-day needs for families going through the unimaginable with their child. SJGF serves children who are going through a sudden medical crisis, are seriously ill or who have special and/or medical needs. During the many cycles of Julia's illness, treatment and care, Sara and her family were inspired by Vivian Greene's, "Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's learning to dance in the rain." The motto for SJGF is, 'Helping Children Dance in the Rain' and children who receive services through SJGF are lovingly referred to as Raindancers.
