Ms. Rashida K. Lester, MA. Ed was born on the beautiful island of St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands. She is a mother of three children--two daughters and a son and a grandmother for a granddaughter.
In 1992, she graduated from Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA with BA in English/Mass Communications. In 1994, Ms. Lester pursued a career in Education. As a result, she obtained her Teaching Certification and began her career as a Secondary English Teacher.
In 1998, she began a new career track and pursued a MA in School Counseling and in 2000, she was hired as an Elementary School Counselor and in 2007 as an Adult Education School Counselor for the VI Dept. of Education--where she presently works.
After much planning and soul searching, in 2012 Ms. Lester and her two daughters, founded and co-founded a non-profit called My SISTAHS Keeper, Inc. It was founded to provide the youths of the St. Croix, USVI with programming that will assist in mentoring, empowerment, leadership, community service learning, career, academic and social/emotional development. This non-profit was founded to provide service especially to the underserved and underrepresented youths and their families. Today, MSK, Inc. has served over 1000 youths and their families in over ten different platforms and academies.
